Elected in 2018, Mayor Bianco strives to change public perception of politicians as the mayor of Dalworthington Gardens, Texas
DALWORTHINGTON GARDENS, TEXAS, June 30, 2022 – Mayor Laurie Swink Bianco has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mayor Bianco’s career has been built upon her desire to assist others through public service. After serving as a teacher for 19 years, she was elected to lead the city of Dalworthington Gardens in 2018, at which point she became determined to transform the city into a desirable destination for businesses that fit the culture of the community. She strives to conduct herself humbly and govern with the guiding principles of faith, kindness, grace and forgiveness; above all, she aspires to make a difference and change the public’s perception of politicians.
Mayor Bianco relocated to Dalworthington Gardens with her husband and daughter in 2009. She ran for the mayoral seat at the suggestion of the previous mayor, who was surrendering the position to campaign for a role as part of the judiciary. Despite the fact she did not have prior experience in government, Mayor Bianco seized the opportunity to work on behalf of the community, and she went on to win the election.
One of Mayor Bianco’s most notable career achievements is her work supporting the Salvation Army. Dalworthington Gardens is recognized consistently by the organization and has received the highest per capita award for donations in the North Texas region. Additionally, Mayor Bianco is on the Tarrant County Mayor’s Council, which includes Woodward and Arlington; she will serve as the council president next year.
Mayor Bianco holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a Master of Science in elementary education and teaching, both from Appalachian State University. Prior to her current role, Mayor Bianco served as a third-grade teacher at LJ Bell Elementary for six years. She was aligned with the International School in Genoa for seven years and acted as a teacher in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for one year and North Carolina for five years. She received the Teacher of the Year Award from LJ Bell Elementary and a Garden’s Cross Award.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Mayor Bianco enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Sabatino Bianco, and daughter, Emily. She serves as the president of the Citizens Public Safety Academy and volunteers for the Salvation Army Advisory Council and the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition.
